THREE ANGLO-SAXON HEROES:
1. ATHELSTAN - the story of King Athelstan's victory in a verse translation by Alfred Lord Tennyson.
2. BYRHTNOTH - a prose retelling of the the poem "The Battle of Maldon" in which an aging alderman leads a brave resistance against a Danish raiding party.
3. HEREWARD THE WAKE - the story of Hereward's leadership of the resistance movement against William the Conqueror.
